Do you want to really get reading but can't seem t find the right book for you? Well, the key is in the comments. Usually on the front or back of books there will be a comment like: "A brilliant thriller" The Times. Look at these and it becomes obvious what type of book it is. If it says "A brilliant thriller" then you know that the book is a thriller.
If you don't even know if you like thrillers, and your thinking: "What does 'thriller' even mean?" then ask around. Ask your friends to tell you the books they've read and ask them to tell you briefly what happened in it. This will give you an idea of whether you will like it or not, if the plot sounds good to you then you'll probably like it.
If you have no friends then go into a book shop, pick a book you think you might like and ask the owner to give you an idea of the plot. For this strategy it is best to go into an individual book seller as they know more about the books on their shelves than the big brands and chain shops. If you don't fancy the trip to the shops (lazy!!! :P) then go on eBay, amazon etc., and search for the book you want and click on reviews. This isn't the best way, but it works.
Finally, leave a comment asking me to review a book for you, I'll do my best to do it.
If all else fails, get the book anyway.
Great advice! I've tried it and it really helps me get books I enjoy reading - and it's opened up my range of reading genres, too!
